Genesis

And Isaák having called Iakob, blessed him, and gave charge to him, saying: "You shall not take a wife of the daughters of the Chananaion.

Having risen up, you run away into Mesopotamia, into the house of Bathouél, the father of your mother. And take to yourself from there a wife of the daughters of Laban, the brother of your mother.

And may my Theos bless you, and increase you, and multiply you. And you will be into gatherings of nations.

And may he give to you the blessing of my father Abraám, to you and to your seed after you, to inherit the land of your sojourning, which the Theos gave to Abraám."

And Isaák sent away Iakob. And he went into Mesopotamia towards Laban, the son of Bethouél the Syros, brother of Rebekka, the mother of Iakob and Esau.

And Esau having seen that Isaák blessed Iakob, and sent [him] away into Mesopotamia of Syria to take to himself a wife from there, in the blessing him, and giving charge to him, saying: 'You shall not take a wife of the daughters of the Chananaion',

[that] Iakob hearkened to his father and his mother, and went into Mesopotamia of Syria.

Now Esau also seeing that the daughters of Chanaán before his father Isaák are evil,

that Esau went to Ismaél. And he took Maéleth, daughter of Ismaél, the son of Abraám, [and] sister of Nabeoth, towards his wives [as a] wife.

And Iakob went forth from the well of the oath, and departed into Charran.

And he encountered a place and slept there, for Helios went down. And he took from [one] of the stones of the place, and put [it] towards his head, and went to sleep in that place.

And he dreamed. And behold: [there was] a ladder firmly fixed in the earth, whose top reached into the heaven. And the messengers of the Theos ascended and descended upon it.

And the lord strengthened upon it. And he said: "I [am] the Theos of Abraám and the Theos of Isaák, your father. Do not fear! The land on which you sleep upon it, I will give it to you and your seed.

And your seed will be as sand of the earth. And it will be widened upon [the] west, and [the] south, and [the] north, and upon [the] east. And in you all the tribes of the earth will be blessed, and in your seed.

And behold: I am with you, protecting you in every way of whichever you may go. And I will return you into this land, for no way would I abandon you until my doing all as much as I spoke to you."

And Iakob awoke from out of his sleep. And he said: "[The] lord is in this place, but I had not known [it]."

And he feared, and said: "How fearful [is] this place! This is none other than [the] house of the Theos, and this [is] the gate of heaven."

And Iakob rose up in the morning, and took the stone which he placed there towards his head. And he set it up [as] a monument, and poured oil upon the top of it.

And he called the name of that place: House of Theos. And the name of the city before was Oulamlouz.

And Iakob vowed a vow, saying: "If the lord Theos should be with me, and should guard me in this journey which I go, and should give to me bread to eat, and a cloak to put on,

and should return me with safety into the house of my father, then shall [the] lord be to me into Theos.

And this stone, which I set up [as a] monument, will be to me Theos' house. And all, whatever you should give to me, I will tithe a tenth of it to you."
