Genesis

And Abraám added to take a wife, whose name [was] Chettoura.

And she bore to him Zombran, and Iezan, and Madal, and Madiam, and Iesbok, and Soyé.

And Iezan begot Thaiman, and Saba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Ragouél, and Nabdeél, and [the] Assourieim, and [the] Latousieim, and Laomeím.

And the sons of Madiam [were] Gephar and Apheír, and Enoch, and Abeira, and Eldaga. All these were sons of Chettoura.

But Abraám gave all his possessions to his son Isaák.

And to the sons of his concubines Abraám gave gifts. And he sent them away from his son Isaák, [while] he was still living towards [the] east, into [the] land of [the] east.

And these [were] the years of [the] days of the life of Abraám, as many as he lived, a hundred seventy-five years.

And failing, Abraám died in a good old age, an old man and full of days. And he was added to his people.

And his sons Isaák and Ismaél buried him in the double cave, in the field of Ephron, the [son] of Saár the Chettaion, which is over against Mambre.

[In] the field and the cave which Abraám acquired from the sons of Chet, there they buried Abraám and his wife Sarra.

And it came to pass after the dying of Abraám, [that] the Theos blessed his son Isaák. And Isaák dwelt by the well of the vision.

And these [are] the descents of Ismaél, the son of Abraám, whom Agar the Aigyptia, the maidservant of Sarra, bore to Abraám.

And these [are] the names of the sons of Ismaél, according to [the] names of their generations: Nabaioth, first-born of Ismaél, and Kedar, and Nabdeél, and Massam,

and Masma, and Douma, and Masse,

and Choddan, and Thaiman, and Ietour, and Naphes, and Kedma.

These [are] the sons of Ismaél, and these [are] their names in their tents, and in their dwellings: twelve rulers according to their nations.

And these [are] the years of the life of Ismaél: hundred thirty-seven years. And failing, he died. And he was added to his family.

And he dwelt from Evilat to Sour, which is against [the] face of Aigyptos, unto coming towards [the] Assyrious. He dwelt against [the] face of all his brothers.

And these [are] the descents of Isaák, the son of Abraám.

Abraám begot Isaák. And Isaák was forty years [old] when he took Rebekka, daughter of Bathuél the Syros, out of Syrian Mesopotamia of Syria, sister of Laban the Syros, to himself into wife.

And Isaák beseeched [the] lord concerning his wife Rebekka, because she was barren. And the Theos of him listened, and his wife Rebekka conceived in [the] womb.

And the babies leaped in her. And she said: "If thus is about to happen to me, why is this to me?" And she went to enquire of [the] lord.

And [the] lord said to her: "There are two nations in your womb. And two peoples from out of your belly will draw apart. And [one] people will rise above [the other] people. And the elder will be a servant to the younger."

And the days were fulfilled for her to bear. And thus there were twins in her belly.

And the first-born came forth out entirely fiery red, and of hairy skin. And she named his name Esau.

And after this came forth his brother, and his hand took hold of the heel of Esau. And she called his name Iakob. And Isaák was sixty years [old] when Rebekka bore them.

And the young men grew. And Esau was a human skilled in hunting, [living] rugged. But Iakob [was] a resourceful human, dwelling in a house.

And Isaák loved Esau, because his hunting [was] food for him, but Rebekka loved Iakob.

And Iakob boiled stew. And Esau came from out of the plains, failling.

And Esau said to Iakob: "Let me taste from this red stew, because I fail." On account of this his name was called Edom.

And Iakob said to Esau: "Give to me today your birthrights."

And Esau said: "Behold: I am going to come to an end, and what [are] these to me, the birthrights?"

And Iakob said to him: "You swear by an oath to me today." And he swore by an oath to him. And Esau gave the birthrights to Iakob.

And Iakob gave bread to Esau, and stew of lentils. And he ate and drank. And rising up, he set out. And Esau treated the birthrights as worthless.
