Johann Elert Bode was an astronomer who reformulated the Titius theory and served as director of the Prussian Academy observatory in Berlin. He popularized what became known as the Titius-Bode law. He published the star atlas Uranographia and named the planet Uranus, discovered by William Herschel. His work helped establish modern celestial cartography.
