Hannes Olof Gösta Alfvén was a Swedish physicist who was one of the founders of Plasma Cosmology. He received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1970 for his work on magnetohydrodynamics and plasma physics. He developed theories about the behavior of plasma in magnetic fields and its role in cosmic phenomena. He was critical of the Big Bang theory and proposed alternative cosmological models.
