George Washington Carey developed a mineral-based theory of human disease and was the first to state that the body is a "chemical formula in operation." He expanded on Schüssler's cell salt theory and linked it to astrology and esoteric traditions. His books, including "The Zodiac and the Salts of Salvation," connected biochemistry with metaphysical concepts of human development.
